Dennis Ryan, Advertising, OlsonAlright, a light dusting of snow in mid-November here in Minnesota is hardly earth-shattering news. It will do little to distract the nation from the whole Patraeus-Broadwell affair (seriously ‘paramour’? who uses words like that?).

But it reset the morning for our seventh grader, adding a frisson of excitement and newness to a dark Monday morning.

Good ideas engage peoples’ imaginations like the first snow–they change the landscape, they alter our perceptions, they make us consider everything anew.

Forget making it rain–let’s go make it snow.
