PowerPoint diminishes regional accents, personal idiosyncrasies and charming quirks. Decks don’t charm, people do. But much like how TV newscasters adopt the same mannered vocal cadence in a misguided attempt to project professionalism, PowerPoint slides possess a mannered visual tone that’s equally recognizable and equally unremarkable.
